Cephalometric correlation of ramus and mandibular body in andean young adults, year 2019

Abstract:

The mandible presents morphometric modifications according to the biological and functional mechanisms of each popu-lation; therefore, the objective of this research was to know the possible cephalometric correlation of the mandibular ramus and body in young Andean adults. A quantitative, correlational study was carried out with a non-experimental retrospective documentary design, with a sample of 384 lateral skull radiographs, using the finite sample size formula with 95% confidence and 5% error. The results allow estimating a possible positive statistical correlation between the body and the mandibular ramus; In conclusion, the present investigation assesses that the size of the mandibular body is directly proportional to the size of the mandibular ramus of young Andean adults.
