Challenges to embed an electronic nose on a mobile robot
Abstract:
A gas/chemical source localization has important implication in different fields such as explosive or drug detection. An electronic nose embedded on a mobile robot is a good option for implementing tracking algorithms for localization, however understanding the behavior of electronic nose in real scenarios where external factors may affect the robot performance is a challenge. In this paper different experiments are tested in a robot with an electronic nose embedded to known the different effects of chemical sensing and the possible challenges to overcome in chemical source localization.
