Characterisation of ingestion in Isostichopus badionotus (Salenka) and Holothuria mexicana Ludwig - Echinodermata: Holothuroidea
Abstract:
The abundance of microorganisms and biomaterials found in the digestive tract of these 2 holothurians from Thalassia testudinum beds growing on superficial substrata types in Morrocoy National Park, Venezuela, in analyzed. Gastropods, bivalves and Foraminifera were the most frequently found organisms. Results suggest a selectivity in size of the ingested species. -from English summary
