Chemical process synthesis: A holistic propose in teaching-learning process


Abstract:

The chemical process synthesis requires the solution of problems through algorithmic methods and heuristics based on fundamental principles of the Chemical Engineering. The objective of this work is to propose a methodology that supports the development of the synthesis of a chemical process using heuristic rules by means of a holistic process, that is means, the application of concepts in the study of the interrelations between the parts and the stages, of cyclical way; in this form the basic case is improved through successive cycles. These heuristics are related to the conversion, separation, integration of the chemical process, efficient handling of mass and energy, and in general with the sequence of the characteristic operations of a chemical process. For the validation of this proposal are shown three works presented in national congresses in Venezuela that used this methodology.
