Citotoxicidad de los extractos de Grias neuberthii y Grias peruviana sobre líneas celulares tumorales.

Abstract:

To be the cancer one of the principals causes of death in the world. Is necessary to know the antiproliferative effect that some ethnopharmacological products can present. Those of them can remove or stop the carcinogenic cells, so it could avoid its dissemination. Much of antineoplastic used in the chemotherapy are of vegetable origin; therefore the importance of conservation, protection and the study of vegetables resources with pharmacological uses. In the present work was studied Grias Peruvian and Grias neuberthii, both of them belong to Lecythidaceae family, due to their use in traditional medicine, it purpose to evaluate the antiproliferative capacity that presents differents extracts obtained from both species. In the next investigation was used seven human tumor cell lines, which was exposed to differents doses of 20 extracts of G. Peruvian and G. neuberthii, trough of the essay of cytotoxicity MTS, also determinate that some extracts have an interest antiproliferative level, specially the methanolic extract of the stem of Grias neuberthii, which indicate a powerful cytotoxic effect in all the cellular lines utilized, which of them concern the SW613-B3 cellular line, corresponding to colorectal cancer and the cellular line PC-3, corresponding to prostatic carcinoma grade IV, so both have mutations at the level of the gen p53.
