Cobertura del test de Papanicolaou por los hospitales Isidro Ayora, Ma nuel Ygnacio Monteros e Instituto del Cáncer Solca de la ciudad de Loja en las provincias de Loja y Zamora Chinchipe durante los años 2010-2012.

Abstract:

(Objective:) To determine the Pap test coverage in Instituto del Cáncer SOLCA Núcleo de Loja, Hospital Manuel Ygnacio Monteros y Hospital Regional Isidro Ayora in women from Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, by review of pathology reports and medical records for the purpose to assess the fulfillment of the international coverage rules. (Methodology:) Retrospective study. (Results:) Cytological reports from the three institutions were analyzed and the coverage that exists in these three health entities in terms of realization of Pap Test! was iidentified, which was between 45,04% M i 48,41%. This result was obtained by subtracting the tests that! were Performed unnecessarily from the total tests performed, it means Pap tests analyzed at an interval of less than three years after a previous normal result (Conclusions:) It was shown that the Pap test coverage for these!two provinces is unsatisfactory compared to the! standard 80! % global coverage! of Pap Test among the population at risk, wich is recommended by the OMS.( Richart,!1990)
