Collaborative learning in the ecuadorian higher education system


Abstract:

The new Regulation of Academic Regime of Ecuador, includes as one of the components of the organization of teaching, collaborative learning. Therefore, the objective of this article is to characterize this learning in undergraduate degree subjects, considering that this is a novelty in the curricular design of the country, for which the Ecuadorian higher education institutions had to insert it into their redesigned curricula. An investigation was carried out using the exploratory method, with the participation of 367 students and 27 professors from the careers of Architecture, Graphic Design and Interior Design of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador. They stand out among the results that, the insertion of collaborative learning and its explicit recognition within the formative and evaluative process of the students, is relevant and is linked to the methodologies for the achievement of the same through works that generate collaboration, practice, integration, research and commitment It concludes on the need and importance of planning, managing and evaluating this learning from its characterization, paying special attention to the nature of the subjects and the particularities of the groups of students.
