Community tourism management in the context of popular and solidarity economy in Ecuador.
Abstract:
Today the world is characterized essentially by the speed with which changes occur, this element has defined a new economic environment in which the variations are constant and gains value knowledge, imagination and exchanges; therefore, in this new economy destinations are forced to generate and evaluate new ideas constantly value for others, so it must demonstrate its capacity to adapt to the new demands of the economy and society, emerging tourism community as one of the activities which route to sustainable development of populations that possess valuable natural assets. At the Earth Summit in Johannesburg in 2002, the World Tourism Organization is committed to developing the project Sustainable Tourism for Eliminating Poverty in 21 developing countries, including Ecuador, for its high natural and cultural biodiversity identified in the four worlds, which have not been adequately exploited by tourism operators that make use of local labor and generated if a truly sustainable development for communities. The tourism in Ecuador, is one of the areas generating most significant currencies, to the point that has come to be constituted as a strategic sector for the country's development, since it is an integrative activity that generates employment and wealth bkp_redistribution, and complementary to multiple activities, because for every direct employment generated in tourism are created between 3 and 6 indirect employment positions, thus being relevant for poverty reduction and sustainable development of the country strategy.
