Comparative Analysis of Defense Industry Models in South American Countries

Abstract:

The work carried out focused on the development of a comparative analysis between South American countries similar to Ecuador, in terms of their defense industry models, based on a set of aspects valued as fundamental in the related theory. The main techniques applied were analysis and synthesis and content analysis, based on consulting bibliographic sources. The experiences of nearby countries with similarities to Ecuador were studied, with a view to strengthening the national development of the defense industry. It was evidenced that the countries analyzed have a greater development of R + D + i in the defense sector than Ecuador, despite the fact that from the point of view of public policy, institutional system and regulations there are no notable differences, not so in the case of the assigned budget, in which differences are evident between Ecuador and the rest of the countries analyzed. The analysis carried out will allow us to continue deepening the theoretical and practical aspects that will drive the development of this strategic sector in the future.
