Comparing the Plan Quality of Two Commercial Treatment Planning Systems for the Single Isocenter for Multiple Targets Technique
Abstract:
Results Full PTV coverage was achieved for all plans. Using the DARC MIMT plans as the gold standard, the PTVmean was 110.4%±6.3%(mean±standard deviation) for Eclipse plans and 112.5%±8.3% for Pinnacle plans with p= 0.243 for the t-test. Plan indexes for assessing normal tissue sparing are generally higher for Eclipse than for Pinnacle plans (CI: 109.8%±21.0% vs. 104.6%±15.3%, p= 0.136; Tmean: 145.0%±21.0% vs. 135.0%±26.8%, p= 0.083; V12Gy/VPTV: 136.7%±30.4% vs. 131.6%±26.6%, p= 0.186; and V10Gy/VPTV: 144.2%±37.5% vs. 139.9%±31.5%, p= 0.286). However, none of these differences were statistically significant (p> 0.05). In comparing to the DARC MIMT plans, all indexes for assessing normal tissue sparing were significantly higher (p< 0.05) for the VMAT SIMT plans except for the CI of Pinnacle plans (104.6%±15.3%, p= 0.130). Conclusion The plan quality of the two studied …
