Comparison between parameter estimation methods for induction machine models using arbitrary reference coordinates
Abstract:
In this work, a comparative study of several parameter estimation methods for induction machine models is presented. Some of these methods are based on the classical equivalent circuit model in steady state operation. Other estimation methods are applied to dynamic models. We start by reviewing the estimation method based on no-load and full-load tests. This estimation can be used as an initial parameter solution for a more precise method based on non-linear minimization of a cost function, built as the sum of the square difference between the input impedance measure and the one evaluated from the model. For dynamic models two different alternatives are compared, one based on the plant observability principle that uses the derivative information of the state equations, and a new method proposed by us based on the instantaneous active and reactive power measurements.
