Abstract:

The objective of this is to find the competencies or success factors that characterize the leaders in the segment of savings and cbkp_redit cooperatives. To reach the aforementioned objective, the Lominger methodology was used, which considers the competencies as observable and measurable behaviors of executives. The study is based on quantitative-qualitative variables obtained through information gathered in different hierarchical levels using different instruments such as surveys and interviews. Responsibilities and leadership management of executives were analyzed; and subsequently, the required competencies for each position were defined. The competency model is proposed as an effective tool to manage, in an integral way, the processes related to human resources in companies to achieve competitiveness through leaders who make assertive decisions and to strengthen growth and long-term profitability of the organization. Through this work, a model of 19 leadership competencies required for a better management performance was obtained. The same will be the basis for the selection, performance evaluation and career plan of people in executive positions.
