Comportamiento de cinco variedades de arroz Oryza sativa L. en suelos salinos, en el cantón de San Jacinto de Yaguachi, Ecuador


Abstract:

The research was carried out in the San Jacinto, canton of Yaguachi Guayas province, whose general objective was to evaluate the behavior of five rice varieties in saline soils, in the San Jacinto de Yaguachi canton. The treatments evaluate were five varieties of rice (INIAP 11, INIAP 14, SFL-011, Arenillas and Fedearroz 60). The completely randomized block design (DBCA) was used with five treatments (varieties) and four repetitions, giving a total of 28 experimental units. The following variables were evaluated: numb r of tillers m-2, plant height at harvest, number of panicles m-2, length of panicle, number of empty grains, percentage of empty grains, weigth of 1000 seeds. Yield and content chlorophyll. In the results, the rice variety SFL-011 reported the highest harvest height and the highest percentage of chlorophyll at 30 and 60 days with 103 cm, 46.63% and 50.8% respectively, the fedearroz variety reached the highest number and percentage of grains filled with 140 grains and 97.1 % respectively, the arenillas variety obtained the longest panicle length at 28 cm, the INIAP 11 variety presented the highest number of tillers and panicles per square meter, the least amount and percentage of vain grains and the highest yiel with 462 tillers, 456 panicles, 3 vain grains, 2.18% of vain grains and 8121.75 kg/ha.The research was carried out in the San Jacinto, canton of Yaguachi Guayas province, whose general objective was to evaluate the behavior of five rice varieties in saline soils, in the San Jacinto de Yaguachi canton.
