Composición corporal, perfil antropométrico y somatotipo en futbolistas ecuatorianos según su posición de juego.

Abstract:

Introduction: Soccer is characterized by different physiologic needs depending on the players’ position on the field, which leads to different physical attributes. Anthropometric parameters and high levels of strength, power and speed are critical for professional players to gain advantage and succeed in the game. Objectives: To determine body composition, anthropometric and somatotype profiles in Ecuadorian soccer players according to their position on the field during 2017-2020. Materials and methods: The study was a non-experimental cross-sectional type of study with a quantitative and descriptive approach. The athletes’ anthropometric profile and physical characteristics were determined. The anthropometric measurements were obtained using an anthropometric set validated by ISAK, while the players’ body composition was determined using the Cine Gim software.
