Composición florística, estructura de los bosques secos y su gestión para el desarrollo de la provincia de Loja, Ecuador

Abstract:

The floristic composition and structure of dry forests were studied at Loja province, there was also promoted a management for local development making emphasis in the rational management of forest resourses, so a scientific knowledge was given that allow a racional use of its resourses, taking into account the needs of the enrolled population and the ecological reality of forests. The sample used in this field work were 100 parcels of 20 x 20 m, where it registered all the bigger woody individuals or similar to 5 cm of DBH1, 30, the sampling was validated with the curve area-species. With the data it was calculated the indexes of diversity of Shannon, Justness of Pielau and Simpson. For the cluster of the parcels the computer program PC ordination was used, the qualitative and quantitative index of diversity of Sorensen was calculated. The horizontal structure of the forests is expressed with the ecological parameters: relative density, relative frequency, relative dominance, index value of importance and distribution diametric. The vertical structure is analyzed by means of the description of the strata of the vegetation. It registered 58 species inside 51 generous and 29 families. The diversity is qualified as mean where they have great influence the abundant and dominant species. Three groups of forests were identified, each one characterized by typical species of the dry forests, easily differentiable in the field for the density and physiognomy of the vegetation.
