Computer security for small and medium-sized enterprises of the province of Santa Elena

Abstract:

Currently the accelerated growth of the internet, small and large companies (SMEs) is evident. Therefore, they are subject to new and potentially high threats and vulnerabilities that threaten their information system and many other important areas. This article focuses on the use of the controls of ISO 27000, dedicated to specify requirements necessary to: establish, implement, maintain and improve an information security system. However, most small and large companies do not consider as an important investment the fact of implementing policies and mechanisms for the proper functioning of the company. Therefore, a computer security guide will be developed, so that it can later be implemented in companies. Our proposal seeks to encourage existing techniques to overcome the insecurity and distrust that may cause, hackers, crackers and other potential threats. As well as to make people aware that these vulnerabilities have devastating effects, and that they generate unavailability when accessing information when it is vital and necessary for decision making.
