Concept map based group modelling in learning activities


Abstract:

The main objective of this work is to make available both teachers and students with a tool (DynMap+) that provide a graphical representation of student models and group models. Using DynMap+ the user will be able to observe a global and a particular view of the students' knowledge, and also a dynamic picture of their progress. The tool will be useful to supervise the learning in contexts in which computer assisted learning systems are used, for example, collaborative learning environments, intelligent tutoring systems, assessment systems, etc. From a practical point of view, the teachers will use DynMap+ in order to observe the progression of the learners and, thus, it will be possible the assessment of the students, the identification of general problems of a student group or individuals, the organization of future activities and work teams. Moreover, student and group models will also be available for students as a tool for promoting reflection.
