Conceptual errors, attitudes and beliefs about the learning of physics


Abstract:

The purpose of this investigation is to identify and analyze the conceptual errors, referring to the systems of units, to the International System and its prefixes, to the subjects of mass, weight, gravity and acceleration of the gravity, that the students presented when entering the subject of Physics I, of the Civil Engineering Degree, at the University of Guayaquil, UG, Semester I, Cycle I, 2017-18 through a questionnaire of open questions; In addition, determine certain attitudes and beliefs about the learning of physics, by using the CLASS test: "The Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey". This study is of a qualitative nature. According to the results, it is necessary to take actions in relation to the conceptual and attitudinal part and not only in the procedural part of problem solving.
