Conocimientos y actitudes sobre la donación de órganos de los usuarios que acuden al Registro Civil, Cuenca 2016.
Abstract:
Background.- Society must have suitable knowledge about organs donation which represent one of the most significate act of humanity. However, the lack of information or erroneous information about the topic. It sometimes affects on favorable decisions. Objective.- Determinate the knowledge and the attitudes about the organs donation of the users that go to the “Civil Registry” in the city of Cuenca, in 2016. Materials and Methods.- It is a descriptive investigation of quantitative type. It was realized with all the users who attended in June to the "Civil Registry" of the city of Cuenca. 328 people were sampled for convenience. The research technique used was the interview and as a tool was applied a form elaborated and validated by the authors, which contemplates questions about: knowledge and attitudes of organ donation. The information was processed in the program SPSS. The data are presented in simple tables with their respective descriptive analysis. Results.- 66.2% of users don’t know of the existence about a law that protects the organs donation in the country. 62.5% didn’t see advertisements of donation. 53% disregard the opinion of their relatives about their desire to donate some organ. 65% of the population doesn’t know about health centers where the transplants are performed. 82.3%, indicates that the main impediment to being a donor is lack of knowledge. 78% of people don’t know if it is a donor in the Civil Registry. Conclusion.- The research, allows us to determine the knowledge and attitudes about organ donation in users who attended to the "Civil Registry" of the city of Cuenca
