Consumo audiovisual en Guayaquil durante el post confinamiento obligatorio por la Covid-19. Estudio cuantitativo de los públicos de series y películas de 30 a 59 años: motivaciones, canales, medios de comunicación, dispositivos y plataformas.

Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the lifestyles and consumption habits of millions of people around the world. In the audiovisual field, for example, the virus had a great impact on the film industry. Many people today prefer not to go to these open spaces for fear of catching the virus. This has caused them to take shelter in their homes and become more familiar with digital platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Pelis Plus, among others, for audiovisual consumption. The objective of this study was to know the consumption habits of series and movies of Guayaquil residents aged 30 to 59, according to their lifestyles, in the mandatory post-confinement due to COVID-19. A quantitative approach was used with the application of a survey to 437 people within the established age range. The results show that currently the majority of the participants, that is, 65%, do not attend the cinemas. Netflix is still the preferred transmission platform for most moviegoers, and it was verified that many of the users who participated in this project are unaware and do not consume local movies.
