Abstract:

The following research aims to know the factors that influence the purchase habits of organic food in men and women between 35 and 44 years old in the cities of Guayaquil and Samborondon. An exploratory-descriptive study was carried out through a quantitative methodology. There were 1,267 surveys conducted among Guayaquil and Samborondon. Within the group of 35-44 years, 276 people were studied, to recognize what were their shopping habits related to organic food. The results show that this group has purchasing habits in a medium-high level. Like previous studies, it recognizes that there are no demographic variables that directly influence the purchasing decisions of this consumer. Finally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, consumer shopping habits strengthened and even increased for the lowest segments. Key words: PURCHASE HABITS, ORGANIC FOODS, RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION, COVID-19.
