Contribution of the Orotopía project community connect to the participatory governance of cultural heritage at El Oro province, Ecuador
Abstract:
This paper systematizes a Project Community Connect called Orotopía at the Technical University of Machala (Utmach), Ecuador, which was constituted to resignify the importance of the cultural heritage in the local territory, through of an interdisciplinary work with several undergraduate careers of the School of Social Sciences at the same university (Utmach). In this article, the authors analyze the contribution of the project in front of the participatory governance in the territory and, at the same time, they analyze how the topic of cultural heritage can be a source of inspiration for new approaches for participatory management. The methodology applied is the systematization of an action research experience in the local territory.
