Corporate Social Responsability in banana in Ecuador: economic, social and legal perspectives


Abstract:

Corporate Social Responsibility is an issue to which companies are paying attention since they have understood that through its exercise social, economic, and environmental well-being is achieved. The purpose of this research was to analyze the social responsibility practices of the banana companies in Machala-Ecuador. It was carried out from a positivist, quantitative approach, using a dichotomous questionnaire to collect information, subjected to validity and reliability tests. The population was constituted by the banana companies. The results obtained show the internal management of the companies that moderately carry out activities that generate an environmental and conservation impact towards natural resources; and finally, 50.18% of those surveyed stated that their company does not plan activities that benefit their community. It is concluded that there is little link between the company and its community, it does not participate in social activities, it does not guarantee products that are not harmful to health and the environment, nor does it reduce the use of natural resources.
