Correlación clínica y tomográfica del fenotipo periodontal con recesión gingival y reabsorción ósea. Clínica UCSG semestre B- 2022.
Abstract:
Introduction: Gingival recession can generate psychological impacts on those who suffer from it due to the loss of dental aesthetics, and other damage such as root abrasion, hypersensitivity, and caries. Objective: To analyze the correlation between the periodontal phenotype, gingival recession, and bone resorption in patients from the UCSG Dental Clinic. Material and methods: Descriptive and analytical, exploratory study, clinical and tomographic assessment of the periodontal phenotype and its relationship with mentioned periodontal diseases; in 33 subjects who were treated during period B, 2022; a cross-sectional retrospective review of previously carried out investigations was carried out as scientific theoretical material inherent to the subject. Results: only 48.57% of the participants presented gingival recession, and 100% showed bone resorption. Conclusion: there is no clinical and tomographic correlation of the diagnosis of bone resorption in the periodontal phenotype with gingival recession.
