Correlación entre aplicación de lista de verificación de la Organización Mundial de la Salud en cirugía segura y morbilidad trans y post operatoria


Abstract:

This thesis correlates the application of the checklist of the World Health Organization with decreased morbidity in pediatric patients undergoing major surgery in Baca Ortiz Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital of Quito during October 2013 to February 2014. It is an analytical cross-sectional descriptive study that included 150 pediatric patients. The analysis was performed using SPSS version 20. The results show that, in the sign in phase there is no significant difference between the 2 institutions regarding compliance by obtaining a p <0.53; during the time out, in the Baca Ortiz was performed in 48% compared with 92% of the Metropolitan Hospital, prevalence risk: 0.08 (95% CI 0.31 to 0.207), p<0.001; sign out phase was performed in 48% of patients in the Baca Ortiz compared to 93.3% of Metropolitan, prevalence risk: 0.066 (95% CI 0.34 to 0.182), p <0,001. Morbid events in the two institutions were presented, Baca Ortiz in 19 (75) 25.33% cases and Metropolitan 5(75) cases 6.6%, prevalence risk: 4.75 (95% CI 1.66 to 13.51), p <0.004; no mortality was recorded...
