Correlation Between the Auscan Index (Ai) and Strength, Dexterity and Function Tests in Patients With Primary Osteoarthritis of the Hand (Poah): 75
Abstract:
Objective: To determine whether there is a correlation between the AI and the DJ, PUT and JT instruments. Materials and Methods: The study involved female subjects with POAH (ACR-90). Exclusion criteria: disorders involving the upper extremities (secondary and/or erosive osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthropaties, neurologic lesions, trauma and/or fracture), cognitive disorders and illiteracy. The following was recorded: age; BMI; dominant hand; usual work and/or sporting activity. The AI LK 3.0 (Spanish version authorized by the author), DJ, TPU and TJ instruments were used in the study. Demographic variables were analyzed. The Spearman Correlation Coefficient was used to correlate the different tests. Results: 71 women (69 were right-handed); mean age 62 (46–83); mean BMI 26.2.
