Correlation between skin test for Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae in allergic patients from University Hospital of Puebla
Abstract:
Background: It was made a researches about prevalence and existent correlation between dust mites by skin test, it was high correlation between dermatophagoides. Objective: To value sking test correlation between Dermatophagoides. Methods: Patients with clinic suspicion about allergic illness whom attended to external consult of the Allergy and Immunology Clinic Service of the Hospital Universitario de Puebla, were include in a period of six months, prick skin test with standardized antigen of D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus were made. Results: Of 120 patients enrolled in the study, 54.2% were women, and 45.8% men, with a mean age of 15.7 years. The correlation coefficient between D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus to papule was 0.40 and to erythema was 0.69. Conclusion: The outcomes showed a moderate correlation or a considerable relation between both Dermatophagoides whether papule or erythema. Although the results presented, we suggest both skin test to improve diagnostic accuracy.
