Corrigendum to “;SARS-CoV-2 transmission from infected owner to household dogs and cats is associated with food sharing” [International Journal of Infectious Diseases, 122 (2022) Pages 295-299, (S1201971222003137), (10.1016/j.ijid.2022.05.049)]
Abstract:
The authors regret there were editing mistakes in the published version of the article “SARS-CoV-2 transmission from infected owner to household dogs and cats is associated with food sharing” [1]. Table 2 should be replaced by the one in this Corrigendum. In the original Table 2, the odds ratio values were mistaken as Chi Square coefficient values. Some of the p values had been wrongly copied from the statistical analysis output. Two main errors in the results had arisen in the study, that 1) the male sex was erroneously associated with higher transmission risk; and 2) food sharing with the owner was a risk factor in multivariate and not the bivariate analysis by mistake. These editing mistakes also affected the confident intervals for the odds ratio. The logistic regression model result was not included in the article, that yielded the higher coefficient value of 6.22 for the risk factor of food sharing. Separately, the description of the statistical analysis should be revised as follow: Free version of the statistical packages MiniTab 21.3 and Epiinfo 7.2.5.0 were used; risk factor analysis was performed using a Chi Square test both in bivariate and multivariate mode; a logistic regression model was also performed to address the risk factor association to SARS-CoV-2 transmission. The authors confirm that the errors were not related to the quality of the original data and did not affect the conclusion of the article. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
