Covid-19 pandemic prevention considerations


Abstract:

The high morbidity associated with SARS-CoV 2 infection, demand for emerging actions for the prevention and control of COVID-19 disease. A risk approach is essential, which allows to generalize and at the same time individualize actions according to the different vulnerable groups, where indigenous communities constitute a special group based on economic, sociocultural conditions, susceptibility and integration. A systematic review of the literature providing the theoretical basis for the design of a Community Intervention Strategy was carried out to ensure comprehensive attention to the indigenous peoples and nationalities of Ecuador under the COVID-19 pandemic from actions to promote health, prevent COVID-19 disease and improve indicators of morbidity, complications and mortality secondary to coronavirus infection through an intercultural approach.
