Effect of activated beneficial microorganisms in the cattle fattened in silvopastoral systems with Leucaena, complemented with sugar cane

Abstract:

This research was carried out with the objective to evaluate the effect of including the biological product VITAFERT® (VTF), as microbial additives in the cattle fattened in silvopastoral system with Leucaena leucocephala supplemented with 6 g MS.kg PV-1 of sugar cane. Fifteen animals Zebu cross by trial were used during 165 days of rainy period. The treatments were: 1) grazing ad libitum + sugar cane, 2) grazing ad libitum + sugar cane + 6 mL.kg PV-1 VTF and 3) grazing ad libitum + sugar cane + 9 mL.kg PV-1 VTF. A random regression models were applied starting from a PROC MIXED, a trial were included as fixed effect and the animal nested inside treatment as aleatory effect and the residual error. Growth models of weight x age were used. Several indicators of the productive performance were determined. There were difference (P > 0.001) for the daily half gain (GMD) in the treatments with inclusion of the VTF regarding the control. Also, there was difference (P > 0.001) in the increment of live (IP) and the hectare yield in the treatments where VTF was given with relationship to the control. The non-lineal model (Logistic) showed adequate adjusted for the first and second treatment. However, the lineal model presented appropriate adjusted in the third treatment. It is concludes that the use of the VTF as microbial additives in the fattened of beef cattle in silvopastoral systems with leucaena, complemented with sugar cane generated a productive effect contrasting on the GMD, the IP and the hectare yield in the treatments where VTF was given.
