El desarrollo del pensamiento: filosofía para niños desde los docentes

Abstract:

Considering that thinking design is a relevant aspect in Education and that programs like Philosophy for children contribute to the development of high level abilities, the main goal of this research is to contribute to the contemporary debate on the Cognitive psychology and teaching performance. Moreover, the reviewed work on the art state evidences the lack of studies around the topic from the teaching perspective in Cuenca city in Ecuador, which has led us to the development of this research. The main objective of this study is to analyze the program application from the theoretical and practical view of middle school teachers; taking into account the implementation and application process. It is a qualitative research with a descriptive range. The semi –structured interview and class observations of middle school teachers were used as instruments. It was done on June 19th, 2019 in this city. Therefore, the following leading outcomes could be mentioned: 1) the absence of a relationship between teaching theory and practice, that is, the lack of theoretical elements, which does not allow an accurate application of the program; 2) it is important to be clear about the program at a institutional level, so that the program contributes to the teachers’ training and to their educational project; 3) the positive impact of the program application, due to the fact that it contributes to the development of a series of skills and 4) Although it is not related to the research question, the program is also used to support students with special educational needs, enhancing their participation and social interaction in the classroom
