Alternativa metodológica basada en el uso de Khan Academy como refuerzo académico en matemáticas para mejorar el rendimiento académico

Abstract:

The methodological alternative is an innovative option that the teacher chooses depending on the interests, strengths and feasibility of execution in the process of academic reinforcement. Academic reinforcement is a process that includes a set of activities that the teacher executes towards students who do not achieve the required learnings, in the Ecuadorian case, less than 7 points out of 10. Planning, implementation and evaluation of the methodological alternative based on the use of Khan Academy as an academic reinforcement to improve academic performance was developed with an experimental group of 15 eighth-year basic students in the Unit Educational Zoila Aurora Palaces during the partial 2, 3 and 4 of the subject of Mathematics. The proposed methodology is quasi-experimental using theoretical, empirical and statistical methods. The results obtained by the experimental group in its academic performance present an outstanding evolution; its minimum score went from 1.79 to 5.17. Therefore, no student is located on the scale “do not reach the required learning”, according to the scale proposed by the Ministry of Education.
