Estudio sobre el espacio público de juego en el parque histórico de Guayaquil desde la perspectiva de los niños, niñas y sus cuidadores
Abstract:
This research aims to understand the perceptions of children and caregivers about the use of public spaces in Guayaquil, taking as a case study the “Parque Histórico”, and how they are integrated into child participation processes. The qualitative methodology consisted of surveys to children and parents, in addition to carrying out a participatory workshop allowing the participation of children to identify perspectives about the “Parque Histórico”, and know about protective and risk factors of the site. Based on the results, it was concluded the importance of public spaces for play to be locations that favor child participation where an exchange of expression and ideas among children is developed. With respect to perceptions, children and caregivers propose new recreational experiences, apart from access to games and properties, to have contact with green spaces for a complete development and learning during early childhood.
