Extracción supercrítica de antioxidantes lipofilicos en subproductos de guayaba “psidium guajava l”
Abstract:
In the present investigation the aim was to determine the extraction yield and the antioxidant capacity related to supercritical extracts of guava (Psidium guajava L) byproducts consisted of skin with added pulp. Extraction was performed with supercritical carbon dioxide at different conditions. The particle size of the sample was between 250 to 500 microns, the samples were treated with a continuous flow of carbon dioxide (10000 mL/min at standard conditions) for 6 hours. The parameters tested were temperature 35, 40, 45, and 60 °C, pressure 100, 150 and 200 bar. The major extraction yield 3.45% was obtained at 150 bar and 45 °C. In all cases, the extraction time was observed to be conditionating, for this all extraction were performed during the same time. The highest content of total phenols, using the Folin-Ciocalteu method, was 56.6 mg GAE/100 g ext at 100 bar and 60°C. The quantification of antioxidant capacity, determined by ABTS and DPPH methods, shown values of 82.11 mol TE/g for 200 bar and 35°C; and 68.7 mol TE/g for 200 bar and 60°C, respectively.
