Fístula traumática carótido yugular

Abstract:

It is stated that arteriovenous fistulae between external carotid artery and jugular vein are uncommon. A case characterized by a traumatic communication between external carotid and jugular vein was presented in which such communication closed spontaneously after two years. It was proved that a waiting behaviour may be an alternative for endovascular treatment in some patients affected by this type of fistula.
