Glossalab.Edu project: Integrating and co-creating learning through interdisciplinary glossaries

Abstract:

The glossaLAB.edu project aimed at the development, in educational contexts, of tools for conceptual clarification is described. These tools are oriented, in turn, to the creation of skills and capacities for the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge in two transdisciplinary fields: the general study of information and the general study of systems, contributing to strengthen two pillars on which the PRIMER international initiative (for the promotion of interdisciplinary methodologies, which is also succinctly described). The project continues the development—both in content and functionality of the “interdisciplinary-glossary” glossariumBITri, developed since 2009, and lays the foundation for the International Encyclopedia of Systems Science and Cybernetics Online. Students and teachers from three European and Latin American universities have participated in 4 activity levels: technical (or development of the platform of conceptual elucidation), theoretical (or co-creation of content), metatheoretical (or evaluation of the integration of knowledge based on the analysis of semantic networks) and organization (of decentralized management of interdisciplinary working groups). The results obtained in each of these levels and the open lines of work in which it is currently continued are detailed.
