INFLUENCE OF MUSIC IN ENGLISH IN THE TEACHING OF A SECOND LANGUAGE IN THE UNIVERSIDAD TECNICA DEL NORTE
Abstract:
Ethnomusicology has been an important bridge in relation to education and learning of the various elements that make up the culture. There is an empirical perception of the effects caused by listening to music in English in the learning of this language. The objective of this article was to identify if the students of the Bachelor of Arts in English at the Universidad Tecnica del Norte, who have a greater command of the foreign language, have the habit of listening to music in the target language. The methodology of the investigation was based on the qualitative paradigm within the action research and it was concluded that the habit of listening to music in English greatly influences the level of mastery of this language. The result obtained opens research spaces about the use of this resource in the teaching-learning processes of the English Language as a second language.
