Intercultural education in Ecuador: A systematic review


Abstract:

Intercultural bilingual education in Ecuador is a pertinent issue that worries specialists, as shown by the national and international publications that are produced in the country. In this sense, the purpose of this article is to analyze intercultural education in Ecuador under a systematic review. The methodology was referred to the search for scientific evidence provided in the period of time from 2015 to 2019, the systematic review is descriptive with a quantitative approach, coordinated by hermeneutical methods, content analysis, analytical-synthetic and statistical. Among the main findings are the recognition of the tendency to treat the subject, but from qualitative and descriptive positions that limit the findings to the characteristics of this phenomenon; There are few investigations that bet to determine the synergy of the process in school practice and the establishment of the relationships of factors with the results that are experienced in the Ecuadorian educational reality. It is concluded that intercultural education manages to incorporate a series of elements that determine the practice of education.
