Prevalencia de la dislalia funcional en niños/as de 5 años a 8 años matriculados en primero, segundo y tercer año de básica en la Escuela Ciudad de Azogues, durante el período febrero-agosto 2012


Abstract:

Introduction: the speech and language disorders are pathology frequents in the childhood, which occupies to parents and health professionals; had a prevalence of around 5-8% in pre-school and 4% in schoolchildren, in Mexico the prevalence is 42%, and their more important is the alters in the child communication with our parents and guardians. To detect the disorders time is obligation. Objective: determined the dyslalia functional prevalence in children of 5 years to 8 years enrolled in first enrolled in first, second and third basic of “Azogues City” school in the period from February to August 2012. Methodology: Is a study of prevalence in a population of 113 students, was detected the dyslalia by the TAR test and were collected form demographic data, used descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the results. Results: The prevalence of dyslalia was 36%, the average age of the population stood at 6.23 years old with a SD of 0,908 years, the most prevalent sex was female with a 52% and males sex is 48%, the 67% were parental have primary education, the 23% high, the 5% and with same percentage no amount of instruction education. Conclusions: Age is associated with the presence of dyslalia in this population; sex and parental education are not associated with this disease.
