Remote Variable Monitoring App for Mechanical Ventilators Used in COVID-19
Abstract:
In this article, the development and testing of an App that can be used to control and monitor parameters in mechanical ventilators in intensive care units is presented. Mechanical ventilation variables of a pressure-controlled ventilator are monitored and configured by the App with the use of a cellular device, wireless communication, and remote communication. The presented alternative improves the time response of intensivist specialists who are very demanded due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The use and performance of the developed App is demonstrated in a high-fidelity emerging mechanical ventilator.
