Abstract:

BA Harmon, RB Wilson, MH Finger, WS Paciesas, BC Rubin, and GJ Fishman, NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center, report, on behalf of the BATSE-Compton Gamma Ray Observatory Experiment Team:" Hard x-ray flux from the recurrent x-ray nova 4U 1543-47 has been monitored using earth occultation since Apr. 18. Maximum flux between 20 and 230 keV was detected on Apr. 20 (IAUC 5504), and as of Apr. 25 the flux had dropped below the BATSE instrument one-day sensitivity level. Monitoring of the source is continuing."
