Usefulness of transcranial doppler in subarachnoid hemorrhage. Review

Abstract:

This review summarizes the usefulness of transcranial Doppler (TCD) for the assessment of subarachnoid hemorrhage in the setting of a stroke unit. The basic hemodynamic principles are presented. We discuss the accuracy, the advantages and limitations of the TCD and the interpretation methods. © 2011 Sociedad de Neurología,siquiatría y Neurocirugía.
