Uso de espacios públicos de juego en el parque Ramón Unamuno desde la perspectiva de niñas, niños y sus cuidadores

Abstract:

This research addresses the perception of the use of public play space in Guayaquil by young children (early childhood) and caregivers in the Ramón Unamuno Park. The qualitative study of exploratory and descriptive scope, surveys were applied to children and caregivers to gather their perceptions and a participatory workshop was also developed. Among the main findings that were obtained is that the children identified that the play structures that the park has can be improved to have other types of experiences such as contact with nature, care for animals and relationships with new people. Likewise, one of the most important risk factors was that despite the existence of toilets and drinking fountains, they are not being used due to lack of maintenance, which indicates misuse of the park spaces, finally the importance of creating spaces for children's participation so that children can express their ideas, dreams and desires of what they would like from the park.
