Autonomous assistance system for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Abstract:

This paper puts forward an autonomous assistance system for people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, whose main goal is to improve the quality of life of the user, to move in a sure way in a semi-structured environment. For this purpose, it presents a robust scheme of multilayered where the position of look is captured with eye tracking technology, on an interface human-machine that represents an environment indoor; estimates a trajectory free of risks by means of the algorithm Rapidly-exploring random trees or RRT for a subsequent navigation with a wheelchair, resulting in the move of the user to the desired destination.
