Rol of the tutor in teacher training
Abstract:
Universities have had to consider new approaches to training, because the teaching-learning process of professionals is a challenge for them, noticing, without doubt, an increasingly prominent role of the teacher, in the figure as tutor. In this sense, the objective of this article is to analyze the role of the tutor in the basic education career of the Technical University of Machala. The research is descriptive, quantitative-qualitative. The methods were used: analytical-synthetic, statistical and triangulation of data, as well as the techniques of the questionnaire and in-depth interview. The results allowed to determine that the tutorados perceive the actions of the tutor always present; they consider their activities and results of the practice controlled, and find support to solve the problems they face, visualizing in the tutor as attributes: Mastery of their functions, adequate orientation of the teaching practice, facilitator of the training process; whereas, the tutors provide advice on the planning of the teaching practice and direct observation of the scholastic and academic context of the tutored student. In conclusion, it is clear that mentoring is an inherent element of the teaching function and the curriculum, especially in the context of training of education professionals.
